Williamsburg Landing’s Outstanding Service to Seniors Award honors Rick Jackson

Williamsburg Landing is proud to announce that Rick Jackson has been selected as the 2020 recipient of the Outstanding Service to Seniors Award. The annual award is chosen during Older Americans Month in May and is presented in partnership with the Williamsburg Community Foundation. The Williamsburg Landing Fund was established with the Community Foundation to honor those who have exhibited outstanding service in the field of senior services in Williamsburg.

Jackson, who recently retired from Riverside, served as the Executive Director of Riverside Center for Excellence in Aging and Lifelong Health (CEALH) and Choose Home. His career was dedicated to serving adults in areas focusing on mental health issues and other emotional and cognitive disorders. He is a Certified Senior Advisor and continues to serve a 4-year term on the Alzheimer’s disease and Related Disorder Commission after being appointed by Governor Terry McAuliffe in 2019.

“Though he has recently retired, Rick’s service to seniors in the community has not ceased,” stated Greg Storer, CEO of Williamsburg Landing. Jackson currently serves on numerous boards and advisory councils. He is on the Board of Directors for Williamsburg Area Faith in Action and serves on the Advisory Council for the Peninsula Agency on Aging.

Jackson’s accomplishments, impact on the community and dedication to older Americans led to his nomination and selection for this award. The Williamsburg Landing Fund at the Williamsburg Community Foundation will provide him with a check for $1,000 made payable to a senior-serving nonprofit organization of his choice.

Williamsburg Landing is the first and only accredited Life Plan Community in the region. The independent, non-profit organization provides a gracious, socially enriched environment and full continuum of care including: Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Support, Short & Long-Term Nursing and Adult Day Services to accommodate seniors needs through every stage of life.
