Williamsburg Landing has announced the appointment of five new members to its Board of Directors. Allison J. Brody, Louise F. Canfield, Michael J. Fox, Dr. Carlane J. Pittman and Edgar J. Schumacher will each serve three-year terms. Residents’ Council President, William Kaufmann, re-elected by the Williamsburg Landing Resident Association, will continue his service on the board. As a non-profit Life Plan Community, Williamsburg Landing is guided by a local 18-member volunteer Board of Directors that includes two voting residents.
Allison Brody is Director of Community Resource Development & Engagement at the Williamsburg Health Foundation. Prior to joining WHF, Brody served as GuideStar’s first Director of Communications and was Director of Development for Child Development Resources.
Louise Canfield is a consultant afterworking more than 45 years in hospital, clinic, early intervention, and educational settings as a Speech & Language Pathologist, systems planner, and administrator. Canfield worked for Child Development Resources for more than 20 years and serves on numerous local and state advisory boards including Chair, Hospice House Support Care of Williamsburg Advisory Council, Walsingham Academy and Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
Michael J. Fox serves as Chief of Staff and Assistant to the President of the College of William & Mary, in addition to serving as Secretary to the Board of Visitors. Fox joined the College in 1997 as Director of Government & Community Relations in Office of Public Affairs and assumed his current position in the President’s Office in 2002. Active in community affairs, Fox has served on local boards including: President, Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance; Chair, Williamsburg Regional Library; United Way Williamsburg; and Williamsburg Community Foundation.
Dr. Carlane Pittman is the Director of MBA Programs at the College of William & Mary’s Mason School of Business where she oversees student affairs and academic support operations for the MBA programs. Prior to joining the Business School, Pittman was Assistant Dean of Graduate Arts & Sciences at the College.
Ed Schumacher, a Certified Public Accountant and consultant, spent 25 years as a Controller/CFO for private commercial real estate development companies in Northern Virginia. After relocating to Williamsburg, Schumacher served for 12 years as Controller/CFO of Williamsburg Environmental Group, now owned by Stantec.
