Williamsburg Landing, a premier Life Plan Community, is pleased to announce the promotion of Britnee Cason to the position of Director of Wellness. The new Department of Wellness will oversee the development and monitoring of activities and services appropriate to the needs of residents, as well as its Healthy Balance program for employees. This oversight will emphasize the seven dimensions of wellness: physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, environmental, and lifelong learning. The William A. Doig Health Club & Spa, Activities Department and Chaplain Services will all become part of the Department of Wellness.
Cason began her career with Williamsburg Landing in 2009 as a Fitness Assistant and was promoted to Assistant Director of the Doig Health Club & Spa in 2016. She has been instrumental in the formation of exercises for Parkinson’s disease, new classes for those with early dementia (“Brain Power” & “Ball & Barre”), and presentations in the greater Williamsburg community on balance and mobility for the prevention of falls. Cason has also been a champion for employee wellness, promoting Williamsburg Landing’s Healthy Balance criteria to encourage employee participation. As a 2009 graduate of Virginia Tech, Britnee earned a B.S. in Human Nutrition Foods & Exercise with a concentration in Exercise & Health Promotion.
