Greg Storer, President and CEO of Williamsburg Landing, has announced the appointment of Debbie Whybra, BSW as the Director of Adult Day Services. Williamsburg Landing’s expansion project includes the addition of a new wellness Adult Day program, the first of its kind in Williamsburg, which will be open to the general public. The program is anticipated to open in January 2018. “We are pleased to welcome Debbie to Williamsburg Landing. Her wealth of experience in senior living, particularly in activity programming and dementia education, brings the professionalism and high level of engagement we aspire to for our Adult Day participants,” explained Storer.
Debbie Whybra began her career in Michigan where she worked in direct care, management and consulting for skilled nursing and Life Plan Communities. Debbie has worked as an Activity Director and Social Worker throughout the United States. She holds licensure as a Nursing Home Administrator and has served on the faculty at both Michigan State University and Madonna University.
More recently, Debbie was employed at Patriots Colony as Director of Resident Services, where she provided leadership and oversight to many departments. With more than 30 years of experience in dementia programming, Debbie is certified as an instructor for the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals, as an Eden Associate, and as a certified dementia instructor through the National Council of Dementia Practitioners.
Nancy Barhite, Senior Director of Home & Community-Based Services at Williamsburg Landing, who will oversee the Adult Day program added, “Debbie brings a tremendous amount of varied experiences and knowledge that will enhance the Adult Day program. We look forward to the highest quality of services under her leadership.”
