Third Consecutive CARF Accreditation Awarded to Williamsburg Landing

November 11, 2019 -- Williamsburg Landing, the area’s premier Life Plan Community has been awarded a Five-Year Term of accreditation by CARF International. This latest accreditation is the third consecutive CARF accreditation that has been awarded to Williamsburg Landing.


Williamsburg Landing Announced as 2019 Health Promoter of the Year

Williamsburg Landing has been honored by the Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance as the winner of its 2019 Health Promoter Award.

The award recognizes individuals, organizations or businesses that promote healthy lifestyles and well-being in the community.

Williamsburg Landing Earns 2019 AHCA/NCAL Bronze National Quality Award

Williamsburg Landing’s Health & Rehabilitation Center has been recognized as a 2019 recipient of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) for its commitment to improving the lives of residents through quality care. The distinction is the first of three progressive award levels through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program and is valid through 2022.

Williamsburg Landing Announces New Board

Williamsburg Landing has announced the appointment of three new members to its board of directors.  Jeanne Zeidler and Elizabeth Fletcher Davis will each serve three-year terms. Residents’ Council President, Tim Wright, was newly elected by the Williamsburg Landing Resident Association. As a non-profit Life Plan Community, Williamsburg Landing is governed by a local 18-member volunteer Board of Directors that includes two voting residents.


Williamsburg Landing Announces New Dining General Manager, Patrick Day

Vernon Baker, Executive Vice President/COO, has announced the appointment of Patrick Day as General Manager of Dining Services effective on June 17, 2019.

Williamsburg Landing provides home care aides for its residents, upon request, who are professionally screened and interviewed. However, residents can also choose to hire caregivers on their own.  Unfortunately, many are not aware of the risks that can occur when bringing outside services into one’s home without thorough vetting, as we have recently learned in our community.

Williamsburg Landing Receives 2018 Architecture and Design Award for Memory Support Home

Williamsburg Landing, the premier Life Plan Community in the greater Williamsburg area, is pleased to announce it has received the 2018 Architecture & Design Award from Senior Housing News in the building category of Stand-alone Memory Care. Greg Storer, President/CEO commented, "We are thrilled to receive this award. Williamsburg Landing's Third Annual Outstanding Service to Seniors Award

When Older Americans Month was established in 1963, only 17 million living Americans had reached their 65th birthday. About a third of older Americans lived in poverty and there were few programs to meet their needs. Interest in older Americans and their concerns was growing. In April 1963, President John F. Kennedy and the National Council of Senior Citizens designated May as “Senior Citizens Month,” the prelude to “Older Americans Month.”

Williamsburg Landing Adding Independent Living Homes

Williamsburg Landing is pleased to announce the addition of six homes in Independent Living as part of its Board-approved Master Plan expansion. The new homes will be located on the north side of Williamsburg Landing Drive, across from the Kramer Pavilion and sundial garden. 

Occupancy is anticipated by December 2019 or early 2020 once the homes are pre-sold.
