National & Statewide Organization Affiliations
At Williamsburg Landing, we are committed to remaining senior living advocates by being thought leaders and progressive innovators within the industry. Our affiliations with the following national and statewide organizations support our efforts and promote our commitment to best practices in every area of service.
The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
Williamsburg Landing is a proud supporter of the Alzheimer's Association and participates in annual fundraisers including the local Williamsburg Walk to End Alzheimer's.
International Council on Active Aging® (ICAA) was founded in the belief that unifying the efforts of organizations focused on older adults benefits both the people they reach and the organizations themselves. Today, over 7,500 organizations within the ICAA network share a common interest in reaching older adults with active-aging messages, facilities, programs and guidance. The ICAA supports these professionals and organizations with education, information, resources and tools so they can achieve optimal success within this market.
LeadingAge is a charitable organization which, over the last 50 years, has focused on education, advocacy, and applied research for an interdisciplinary approach to aging. Membership includes 6,000 not-for-profit organizations representing the entire field of aging services, 39 state partners, and hundreds of businesses, consumer groups, foundations, and research partners. LeadingAge is also a part of the International Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (IAHSA), which spans 30 countries across the globe.
LeadingAge Virginia is a statewide organization of not-for-profit retirement housing facilities, adult care residences, nursing homes, and Life Plan Communities. Facilities are sponsored by a variety of religious, fraternal, public and private organizations dedicated to providing quality care and services to older adults.
Partnerships with Local Organizations
At Williamsburg Landing, we feel it is extremely beneficial to establish and nurture partnerships with local organizations. These relationships encourage our residents to stay connected to interests outside Williamsburg Landing, enabling them to live full, engaging, and rewarding lifestyles.
The Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra brings superior orchestral performances, innovative programming and important educational initiatives to the community of Williamsburg. Over the years, Williamsburg Landing residents have benefited through concerts, special event ensembles, and rehearsals scheduled on campus.
Established in 1999, the Williamsburg Community Foundation connects people who care with causes that matter in our community. The foundation is a collection of gifts from generous local citizens, mostly invested in long-term endowment funds, which will benefit the community forever. Each fund provides grant-making dollars for community needs. The Williamsburg Landing Fund was created at the Williamsburg Community Foundation to support an annual award to honor those who have exhibited distinguished and exemplary service in the field of senior services within greater Williamsburg.
Its mission is to protect and preserve the historical prominence of the First Baptist Church, 1776, and all of its artifacts.
Williamsburg Landing is proud of its almost 5,000 acres in conservation with the Land Conservancy and its scenic location off College Creek. In support of the Land Conservancy’s mission to maintain the character and ambiance of this special region in Virginia, a unique partnership was formed. Through this partnership, residents enjoy the annual Earth Day celebration that includes dynamic speakers on the land and waterways surrounding us.
The Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance is an organization of more than 1,000 members, which represents small businesses, large businesses, educational institutions and non-profit organizations in the Historic Triangle (City of Williamsburg, and the counties of James City and York).
The Arc of Greater Williamsburg's mission is to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through community activities and advocacy.
Their programs provide educational, health and wellness, life skills, cultural, social, and recreational enrichment. They also connect clients with employment opportunities through Wheels4Work. Williamsburg Landing is a proud partner of The Arc and host of their annual 5K Fun Run/Walk!
Hospice House of Williamsburg is not a nursing home, a hospice center, or a medical facility. Instead, it is truly a home – a home to care for those at the end of their life and the ones they love most.
Hospice House of Williamsburg is a special place – one of around 50 social model hospices in the country – and one that has served nearly 3,000 guests in the last 20 years. Those who enter the home become family, and they are treated with dignity, care, and respect by a skilled and passionate team in their final days.
Thanks to the kindness and generosity of the community, nobody who receives services from Hospice House ever receives a bill.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at William & Mary is a membership of people — mostly ages 50+ — from a variety of backgrounds with an abundance of knowledge, wisdom and curiosity. We share a common interest in continuing our learning experiences and intellectual stimulation. There are no tests or grades. Members participate purely for the joy of learning.
The program was established at William & Mary in 1991 as the Christopher Wren Association and then designated as an Osher Institute in 2018.
