Williamsburg Landing has established affiliations and partnerships with an array of organizations to further enhance the experience of our residents.
National & Statewide Organization Affiliations
At Williamsburg Landing, we are committed to remaining on the leading edge of senior living. Our affiliation with the following national and statewide organizations supports us in our efforts to be forward thinking, thought leaders and progressive innovators in senior living. These affiliations also promote our commitment to following best practices in every area of service.
International Council on Active Aging
International Council on Active Aging® (ICAA) was founded in the belief that unifying the efforts of the organizations focused on older adults benefits both the people they reach and the organizations themselves. Today, the vision is shared by over 7,500 organizations connected to the ICAA network that share a common interest in reaching older adults with active-aging messages, facilities, programs and guidance. The ICAA supports these professionals and organizations with education, information, resources and tools so they can achieve optimal success with this market.
LeadingAge is a charitable organization focused on education, advocacy, and applied research. For the past 50 years, the mission of Leading Age has been to make America a better place to grow old.
Offering a multi-specialty, interdisciplinary approach to aging services, LeadingAge’s membership includes 6,000 not-for-profit organizations representing the entire field of aging services, 39 state partners, and hundreds of businesses, consumer groups, foundations, and research partners. LeadingAge is also a part of the International Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (IAHSA), which spans 30 countries across the globe.
LeadingAge Virginia is a statewide organization of not-for-profit retirement housing facilities, adult care residences, nursing homes, and continuing care retirement communities. Facilities are sponsored by a variety of religious, fraternal, public and private organizations dedicated to providing quality care and services to the elderly.
Partnerships with Local Organizations
The Williamsburg community and surrounding areas are thriving, vibrant and filled with an abundance of opportunities for social, cultural, educational, spiritual and personal fulfillment. At Williamsburg Landing, we feel it is extremely beneficial to our residents to establish and nurture partnerships with local organizations. These partnerships encourage our residents to stay connected with interests outside of Williamsburg Landing, offering the ability to live full, engaging and rewarding lifestyles.
Williamsburg Landing supports and promotes the enjoyment of the arts for all residents. Two examples of longstanding partnerships are the Williamsburg Symphonia and Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center. Both of these local institutions have collaborated with Williamsburg Landing by way of promotion and programming for residents.
Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra
The Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra brings superior orchestral performances, innovative programming and important educational initiatives to the community of Williamsburg. Over the years, Williamsburg Landing residents have benefitted through concerts, special event ensembles, and rehearsals scheduled on campus.
Established in 1999, the Williamsburg Community Foundation connects people who care with causes that matter in our community. The foundation is a collection of gifts from generous local citizens, mostly invested in long-term endowment funds, which will benefit the community forever. Each fund provides grant-making dollars for community needs. The Williamsburg Landing Fund was created at the Williamsburg Community Foundation to support an annual award to honor those who have exhibited distinguished and exemplary service in the field of senior services within greater Williamsburg.
Williamsburg Landing is proud of its almost 5,000 acres in conservation with the Land Conservancy and its scenic location off College Creek. In support of the Land Conservancy’s mission to maintain the character and ambiance of this special region in Virginia, a unique partnership was formed. Through this partnership, residents enjoy the annual Earth Day celebration that includes dynamic speakers on the land and waterways surrounding us.
The Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance
The Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance is an organization of more than 1,000 members, which represents small businesses, large businesses, educational institutions and non-profit organizations in the Historic Triangle (City of Williamsburg, and the counties of James City and York).
