“Then my neighbor called…”

Joan and Dan have been married for many decades but recently, Dan’s memory was slipping. Joan’s goal is to care for him as she always had – no one else would love him and care for him the way she did. One Tuesday morning she went to get gas in the car on the way to her regular hair appointment – that’s when the neighbor called: “I just saw Dan walking down Jamestown Road – where is he off to? Should I pick him up?”

Ready Body, Learning Minds Project

Williamsburg Landing resident Bud Walker has been a skilled woodworker since his teenage years. He has crafted a variety of items such as toy boxes for his grandchildren, art easels, lamps, and even a dollhouse that is an exact replica of his granddaughter’s current home. His most recent project in Williamsburg Landing’s woodshop was in partnership with the Williamsburg James City County (JCC) School system and WJCC Physical Therapist, Susan Larkin.

Bond... James Bond

Residents danced the night away at our James Bond 007 event on Wednesday evening. Virginia Beach band “Skylark” played live music while residents danced and enjoyed martinis and champagne. There was also a guest appearance by actor “Sean Connery” who was the first individual to play Bond in a movie.

Greater Williamsburg United Way

During Williamsburg Landing’s 18th annual “stuffin’ parties”, 130 resident volunteers assembled letters for the Greater Williamsburg United Way. Over 16,200 letters were mailed and volunteers worked a combined 290 hours on this project. Residents worked three full days in the month of September to help United Way in their advocacy efforts.
